DIFFERENCES BETWEEN LAWYER, ADVOCATE, AND BARRISTER.

Today, we are going to understand differences between popular terms like lawyer, advocate, barristers. and we are also going to learn about types of advocates.1. LAYWER-
     *A PERSON STUDYING LAW.
     * LAW GRADUATES = LAWYER.
     * HE/SHE CANNOT REPRESENT CLIENTS IN                   COURTS.
2. BARRISTER-
     *WHO STUDIES LAW FROM ENGLAND OR SOUTH            AFRICA.
     * HE OR SHE ALSO CANNOT REPRESENT                         CLIENTS IN COURTS.
3. Advocate- 
     * LAWYER= GIVES EXAM IN BAR COUNCIL OF                  INDIA = after passing exam=enrollment in bar                council of India.
      * Licence to practice in court.
       * Can represent clients in court.
   There are 3 types of advocates--
     a. Advocate- Law degree and enrolled with bar council of India.
     b. Senior advocate- •designated either by supreme court or High court. 
           • eligibility- •45 years of age.
                               • practiced as an advocate for not                                     less than 20 years.
            •can not file vakalatnama.
            •his is dress also changes.
      c. Advocate on record (AOR )- •only an AOR can file a vakalatnama, petition, affidavit or any other application on behalf of party in supreme court.
      • ELIGIBILITY - • should have passed supreme                                    court AOR exam.
                             •must have 4 years of practice in                                       supreme court + 1 year of training                                   under an AOR.
